Bradninch ‘Rocks’ Band Biogs – 2017

17.00 to 17.45 – Rams Rage

First up on the main stage for 2017 are ‘Rams Rage’, a five-piece of Bradninch boys who already have a clutch of well received gigs under their belts. Those who’ve seen them will testify these guys really punch above their weight given they have a combined age of just under 60 years old!  Consisting of Fran (VOX/Lead Guitar), Joe (Guitar), Ethan (Bass), Simon (Keys) & Josh (Drums) all aged between 11 – 13. Fresh on the circuit, this is Rams Rage’s 8th public performance.  Expect Garage Rock frolics and more from these young rockers!

Facebook:  no facebook page for these guys yet – they’re too young!

18.00 to 19.30 – Double Denim

A four piece reproducing the thoughts from an XX/XY duo of songwriters from Britain’s Ocean City, armed with psych-fringed Indie rock, radical Garage rock dynamics, with a nod to a dirty weekend spent with Fleetwood Mac and Orlando Weeks.  Revisit loud/quiet arguments between Kim Deal and Frank Black in their very own west country dialect.  Bring your delta blue jeans for a Post-Sea Shanty singsong and the occasional opportunity for a drank-skank.

Guitar and Vocal – Chelsea Orme-Williams

Guitar and Vocals – Harry Stephenson

Bass Guitar – Jake Bradshaw

Drums – Jake Burrows

19.45 to 20.45 – Sproston Green

Bradninch 5-piece Sproston Green was born of a side-project of musicians (all in bands of their own) who got together at end of 2016 to play a few tunes for the bassist Andy’s 40th bash.  Their dabble with 90’s rock and indie classics went down a storm so they decided that Sproston Green would be here to stay.  Playing classics from Blur, Oasis, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Kings of Leon, Strokes, Charlatans and more, their set is sure to get you on your feet and ready for the headline act!

Line up:

James Trevelyan – Lead Vocals

Phil Reader – Lead Guitar

Andy Hartley – Bass

Paul Hawkins – Drums

Chris Davidson – Keyboards

We love these guys and they never fail to put on a fantastic show so they are back once again to headline the main stage!. The Bottlegger’s need no introduction and have built an enviable reputation with their energetic covers act. The band’s repertoire is bursting with the best tracks of the last 50 years, everything from T-Rex to Bruno Mars. Fronted by the uber-talented Ryan Davies and backed by superb backing vocals and booming backline you will be amazed there are only 4 of them on stage! They are sure to bring a crowd-pleasing finale to the main stage.

We are delighted that we will once again be showcasing some of the best local acoustic talent on offer for 2017.

Jimmy Ireland

Jimmy Ireland

First on from 3.30pm we welcome back local favourite and friend of Bradninch acoustic scene, Jimmy Ireland – Jimmy also pens his own material and has built an enviable reputation and loyal fan-base on the local circuit. Jimmy has a voice that can switch from delicate and fragile to rich and powerful with ease. His own songs cover themes ranging through family relationships, love and self reflection and he covers a wide variety of covers – all given the unmistakable Jimmy Ireland touch!  Facebook:

Foxwillow Trio

Foxwillow Trio are singer/songwriters Martin Dearmun, Celia Sainsbury and Hazel Prior. Their unique acoustic style encompasses elements of folk, country and rock. They write all their own material. Their music combines vocal harmonies with crisprhythm guitar, melodic flute and clarinet, and ethereal Celtic harp.  Celia and Martin have been collaborating for the last 16 years, with Hazel recently completing the trio with her Celtic creativity.

Ollie Dixon

Third up, we’re delighted to welcome Ollie Dixon onto the acoustic stage.  This recent facebook review says it all:  “Just WOW! This trio is a must see! Hugely talented all round and fronted by star material singer-songwriter and guitarist Ollie Dixon, these guys have a presence, sound and energy that really sets the stage and their audience on fire. Ollie captivates a crowd with spine tingling instrumentals and with Jake and James on board, as a collective they create a whole new dimension that the music industry would be crazy to ignore… The fact that they are seriously genuine, authentic and all round decent fellas is just the icing on a very delicious cake! These guys are going places, watch this space!”

Verity Greenaway & the Felt Bottom Blues Band

Last on is Verity Greenaway a hugely talented local musician and long time friend of the Bradninch acoustic scene.  After regularly performing in the Exeter/East Devon area she took an 18 year break to raise her children.  5 years ago she returned to the live scene and has loved every minute!  She sings a mixture of covers and her own songs; blues/folk/pop mostly.  You can hear Verity’s material on her Soundcloud website page here:
